94.7km vs 40km Vitality Short Ride

For the first time, a shorter 40km ride has been added to the 947 Ride Joburg route to give cyclists of all levels the opportunity to enjoy the Ride Joburg experience.

The addition of the short ride has been carefully planned to ensure that there is no overlap with competitive cyclists riding the 94.7km route.

The start time for the short ride is 09:30 (subject to change) and it will merge with the main route at the M1S Athol Oaklands offramp adjacent to Melrose Arch.

Based on timing data from previous events, riders of the main route starting before and including Group S (around 07:37) will have passed through the merge point for the short ride before the ride begins.

The final start time of the short ride will be announced as soon as all the entries are in and the seeding and start times for the 94.7km main route are finalised.

Discovery and 947 want to make moving on a bike fun, easy and feel-good for everyone while upholding the same competitive standards of the traditional 94.7km race.

Whatever your move, move more at the Discovery 947 Ride Joburg.

Entries close 16 October. Secure your entry at [www.947ridejoburg.co.za ](http://www.947ridejoburg.co.za )

Don’t forget – all the events offer premium hospitality and exclusive perks for Team Vitality members. Join Team Vitality today and get 50% or 100% back on your race entry – plus new kit worth R1 000!
