Crazy for Walking will be hosting a series of awareness walks on Thursday, in light of World Mental Health Day.
The initiative, which is in its third, year will see South Africans across the country embark on a 12-hour walk.
Crazy for Walking CEO Francois Louw says an app has been developed to allow others to participate outside of the scheduled walks which will take place in Pretoria, Bloemfontein and Cape Town.
This year, with the traction we got last year, we realised that we're just scratching the tip of the iceberg, we really have to do more. More people want to be involved, more people want to be in solidarity with destigmatising mental illness...so what we have done is we have developed an app.— Francois Louw, CEO - Crazy for Walking
With this app, you donate your steps in solidarity. We want to bring a lot of people together and as they walk they will donate their steps to a real crazy idea and that is to walk towards Mars.— Francois Louw, CEO - Crazy for Walking
