UK Brexit Secretary to meet EU chief negotiator to discuss possible deal

Negotiations have continued in an effort to reach a final Brexit deal by 31 October.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been in talks with his Irish counterpart Leo Varadkar.

Eyewitness News UK corespondent Gavin Grey says both sides are positive that they will come to an agreement.

The Irish prime minister's opinion is crucial and if he comes out as he did yesterday and says they can begin to see a way through his, they can begin to see the chances of a deal then that certainly does give people a lot of confidence.

On Friday, UK Brexit Secretary Steve Barkley met with the EU chief negotiator to discuss the possible deal.

The Irish media are reporting the UK has made concessions to Ireland to make that a workable border, we don't know what those concessions are.
