[LISTEN] Makuwa Masetswane shares how the YES campaign has benefited her

Makuwa Lerato Masetswane is one of many young people have joined South Africa's workforce with the help of the Youth Employment Service (YES).

The business driven initiative has pioneered a partnership with government and labour to collectively tackle unemployment.

Masetswane matriculated in 2011 when she went on to pursue her studies in mechanical engineering and landed a learnership.

I was busy with a learnship for welding...I was doing welding but actually I did diesel mechanics at college.

She details some of the projects she has been involved in since joining the YES programme and encourages others to join.

I joined the YES programme because I have one year experience for wellbeing.
