The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation and the Public Affairs Research Institute (Pari) are holding a civil society conference on Wednesday.
The conference will focus on defeating state capture and rebuilding the state.

The Public Affairs Research Institute has a set of three proposals that will focus on the criminal justice system, public procurement as well as hiring and dismissing people within the public service and municipalities.

She says these proposals are direct interventions into the machinery of the government as well as areas where state capture happened.
The conference is a civil society meeting that aims to hold government accountable.
