I owe a lot to him - Krivani Pillay on her time with Xolani Gwala at the SABC

Radio producer Krivani Pillay says he owes a lot to veteran broadcaster Xolani Gwala because of the time he invested in her career.

Pillay spoke to Joanne Joseph on the Afternoon Drive to share her thoughts on the passing of one of 702's most loved presenters.

Pillay worked with Gwala on the PM Live show in his time with SAFM.

She recalls how he built her confidence .

I owe a lot to him. I feel that my career has developed because of the time he invested in me and the way he motivated and encouraged me to be a better anchor and a journalist.

I started to emulate what he would do. He just brought this life to the team. He genuinely loved us all and we loved him equally.
