Campaign looks to create platform for plus-size male models
The Radisson RED Hotel V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, will soon host the first completely plus-size male fashion show in November under the campaign #PlusIsEqual.
Full-figured men will take part in the show supervised by revered fashion show director, Mary Reynolds.
Body positivity activist and #PlusIsEqual spokesperson TJ Ngoma describes how his effort to enter the modelling industry was tough.
Most of the time people would laugh in my face because they would be like 'what are you talking about, there is no industry for plus-sized men, where would we place you?' and I understood that. They are just representing what the fashion industry is like overall.TJ Ngoma, Body positivity activist and #PlusIsEqual spokesperson
