African Women in Dialogue seeks to empower women to be agents of change
The African Women in Dialogue (AFWID) has continued into its second day in Johannesburg.
The event brings African women together to talk about their role in the life of the continent. This year's theme is Women's Voices and Power as Agents for Change. AFWID regional coordinator Julie Chinyere says the conference seeks to educate women on how they can use their voices to begin to eradicate patriarchy.
At the same time we will own our spaces so that we are included in everything that is happening.Julie Chinyere, Regional coordinator - AFWID
For the conference we understand that for us to make that change we have to be firm...we need to come together as one.Julie Chinyere, Regional coordinator - AFWID
