'President's progress report at investment summit shows government's commitment'
Eskom Pension and Provident Fund chief investment officer Ndabe Mkhize says a progress report given by President Cyril Ramaphosa at the three-day investment summit shows a government committed to doing something about investments in the country.
Ramaphosa has officially opened the summit in Sandton, Johannesburg.
It's the second investment conference aimed at unlocking investment opportunities from local and international business.
Mkhize explains, however, that some of the challenges in the investment of pension funds include a global low return environment.
There are not enough returns to be able to grow the assets and improve the funding of the various pension funds. In that background investors, in impacting investment, have the opportunity to not only catalyse growth but to also have positive, intentional contribution or impact on society and the planet.Ndabe Mkhize, Chief investment officer - Eskom Pension and Provident Fund
We believe that there is not enough knowledge or awareness about what this way of investing can do.Ndabe Mkhize, Chief investment officer - Eskom Pension and Provident Fund
