ANC Youth League cannot be salvaged, says analyst Ralph Mathekga

Political analyst Ralph Mathekga says African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) should be liquidated and that it is almost beyond being salvaged.

There are questions around the league's stability in the wake of Lethabo Nkoana's death. The league member was shot and killed during a rally at the Themba stadium in Hammanskraal on Sunday.

The ANCYL's National Task Team said it suspected the killing was part of a conspiracy to derail the organisation’s plans to rebuild.

Mathekga believes the killing is an indication that the youth league cannot be assisted.

To see what has happened with a very brazen killing, it actually tells you that members of the ANC youth league go to these events or forums where they are supposed to intellectually engage each other, they go there, not armed with conviction or principle but actually armed with guns.

Ralph Mathekga, Political analyst

No one can help, no one can assist, the ANC should probably liquidate it and be done with it for good.
