[WATCH] Some people call it journey music - Steve Dyer on his latest album

Jazz musician Steve Dyer explores the need for what he describes as universal consciousness in his latest album Genesis of a Different World.

The album which is Dyer's first release in four years under his own name sees him collaborate with the likes of Thandi Ntuli as well his son - Bokani Dyer.

He joined Azania Mosaka in studio for this week's #702Unplugged.

If you look at the world nowadays, there is people who are isolationist and others who believe in collectivism so there is a battle for the soul of the globe and collectivism is going to win ultimately. The question is just how long is it going to take?

Some people call it journey music. I think with this project I have taken some chances and it is a journey through a lot of the tracks.
