Caller asks Eusebius: Why can't we give new Eskom CEO the benefit of the doubt?

The appointment of the new Eskom CEO has been met with mixed reactions.

Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan announced on Monday that Andre de Ruyter will be taking over the reins from Phakamani Hadebe who resigned earlier this year.

Callers on the Eusebius McKasier Show debated whether it was a right move to appoint De Ruyter or not.

Eusebius says the race of the previous CEOs did not play a role in the failure of the entity.

I think Eskom has failed us simply because of corruption not because we overlooked Afrikaans names.

Eusebius McKaiser, Show host

We should give the new CEO a chance to prove himself.
