Fun, healthy family activities on offer in Gauteng over festive season

Staying in Gauteng over the festive season or part of it? Well you won't be short of things to do says journalist and producer David "Mr Active" Katz.

He picks three activities that are perfect for your family to have fun and stay fit at the same time.

Joburg Ballet will present its popular summer school from 11-14 December, a perfect exercise fit for both girls and boys.

Ballet's fantastic. It's about control, strength, flexibility, so there's a lot that goes on that is really important.

Two water-based activities he suggests are stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) lessons with SUPFitness at Emmarentia Dam and a fun day at StokeCity AdventurePark in Midrand.

SUP is a great form of exercise... The beauty is you can paddle at any speed you like.

More and more water parks are opening up around dams.
