Counting underway for City of Johannesburg new mayor

Counting is underway in the City of Johannesburg council for the new Mayor.

The African National Congress's (ANC’s) Geoff Makhubo, the DA' Funzela Ngobeni and the Economic Freedom Fighters' (EFF's) Musa Novela are contesting for the top post.

The post became vacant when former mayor Herman Mashaba's resigned in October after his relationship with the Democratic Alliance became strained.
