'No one was absolutely clear what Kamala Harris stood for'
Daily Maverick associate editor Brooks Spector says while it is disappointing that Senator Kamala Harris has bowed out of the US presidential campaign, she was unable to "excite" an audience of supporters and that the campaign she was running appeared to be disorganised and sometimes contradictory .
The US Democratic presidential candidate pulled the plug on her campaign on Tuesday, leaving 15 candidates who could challenge President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
It has been the honor of my life to be your candidate. We will keep up the fight. pic.twitter.com/RpZhx3PENl— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) December 3, 2019
Spector says her campaign message was unclear.

Harris's message tended to go back-and-forth. First she was a new voice, a new face, then she was strong on causes dear to the hearts of left wing democrats and then she pulled back a bit.Brooks Spector, Associate Editor - Daily Maverick
It appeared to some people that maybe she was a little too much all over the map in terms of what it was she wanted her campaign to be about.Brooks Spector, Associate Editor - Daily Maverick
