state capture commission

Eyewitness News reporter Bonga Dlulane gives a summary of Hlongwane's testimony at the commission.

Businessman Fana Hlongwane told the state capture commission that the infamous meeting at the Gupta house where former deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas was allegedly offered R600 million was to sort out issues and rumours of blackmail.

Hlongwane appeared at the commission on Wednesday and said the meeting did not involve any of the Gupta brothers.

Eyewitness News reporter Bonga Dlulane has more.

Fana Hlongwane says he orchestrated that meeting because he wanted to find out why was Mcebisi Jonas, according to Duduzane Zuma, saying that he was blackmailing him.

Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - Eyewitness News

The contents of the blackmail never came out even to this day.

Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - Eyewitness News

It seems like Hlongwane is collaborating a bit of what Duduzane said and denying what Jonas had said.

Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - Eyewitness News

I found Hlongwane to be a bit evasive with specifics. He couldn't remember specifics.
