Ntsekiseng lost her baby during birth end of June, but was given the wrong baby by the mortuary at Bheki Mlangeni Hospital in Jabulani. She says the baby looked a bit older for a new born, but accepted it as hers. It was on the day of the funeral when bathing the baby, she decided to check the baby’s tag, only to find the date of death was May and the body was not her baby’s. She has taken the matter with the Gauteng Department of Health.

Following this conversation with the bereaved mother - and a series of other complaints about the Bheki Mlangeni Hospital in Jabulani. John spoke to Qedani Mahlangu about what the Department of Health is doing about officials at the hospital that who have given a bereaved mother the wrong infant body to bury.
The MEC assured that the Department is investigating this matter and has promised stern action against the hospital staff that is implicated.
