The Pietermaritzburg High court has postponed its ruling over the matter involving the Newcastle Municipality and Eskom.
The power utility wants electricity to be cut off from the municipality due to failure to settle a R200-million debt, which it accumulated over the past two years.
The court is expected to pronounce on the way forward on next week Friday.
