The bus carrying 44 passengers, most of them women and children, has burnt to ashes.
There were no fatalities recorded and ten people were taken to hospital from smoke inhalation.
The bus was travelling from Cape Town to Zimbabwe when it caught fire on the N1 north near William Nicol Drive.
Authorities on the scene say the front wheel started burning at around 6:30am.
