According to an explosive affidavit by a whistleblower, Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane received an instruction from the State Security Agency to set in motion the nationalisation of the Reserve Bank.
These allegations have been revealed in a two-part exposé by amaBhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism and News24.
Ray White on 702Breakfast chats to the amaBhungane managing partner Sam Sole to weigh in on the exposé.
The whistleblower is someone at the heart of her organisation and is definitely in a position to know these things. He has produced an affidavit in terms of the Protector's Disclosure's Act which he has delivered to the speaker of Parliament and to the president.Sam Sole, Managing partner - amaBhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism
He says these allegations back up some of the influences and issues raised with the Public Protector's conduct in this case, which came out in court litigation.
