#Hack.Jozi Challenge Winner makes an app to improve retail in SA

Budding information technology company MoWallet walked away with R1 million after they won the inaugural #Hack.Jozi Challenge at a gala dinner at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg this week.

.#Hack.Jozi Challenge is an initiative of the City of Johannesburg and Wits University that seeks to give talented young developers and digital creatives a platform to create digital solutions to deal with the city's issues.

The winning app "MoWallet" is an app that delivers coupons to customers who can redeem them and exchange them for various products at the local spaza shop. The app won the judges over because it promises to provide more convenience to the lower end market.
