'A number of magistrates lack basic knowledge of law around sexual offences'

Judges Matter Campaign says some magistrates appear to lack basic knowledge of the laws around rape.

This emerged during interviews for posts in regional courts held in October and November last year.

About 88 magistrates and lawyers battled it out for the 26 vacant posts around the country.

Clement Manyathela speaks to Judges Matter Campaign coordinator Allison Tilley.

Allison Tilley, Coordinator - Judges Matter Campaign
