Tutoring is seen as one of the best ways to help kids with learning and attention issues. Unfortunately, the cost of hiring a tutor is not cheap.
_Benoni City Times _has run a report on mathematician Pierre Jacobs, who is offering free maths lessons to pupils in grades 10, 11 and 12 every Saturday from 18 January.
The initiative started out with a few pupils last year.
Joanne Joseph spoke to Jacobs on the Afternoon Drive to find out more.

I have lectured to up to 100 students at a time but the premises here doesn't lend it to massive attendance. The premises itself can take I think a max of 40 people. It is the beginning stages of the project and we will see how it develops.— Pierre Jacobs, Mathematician
Two separate classes will be run in English and Afrikaans at the Benoni North Dutch Reformed Church.
