After at least a few days without load shedding, Eskom has warned that the national power system is under strain due to heavy rain in Mpumalanga.
The power utility has refuted claims that stage 8 load shedding is in the cards in the not so distant future.
Nickolaus Bauer speaks to EWN reporter Mia Lindeque to weigh in on the matter.
The power utility on Tuesday said the power system is under pressure following heavy rains in Mpumalanga. They are concerned about it, but they said businesses shouldn't be too worried and the utility has adequate resources from emergency generators.— Mia Lindeque, Reporter - EWN
The power utility says it has everything under control, Lindeque reports.
Eskom says it doesn't anticipate any load shedding for now, but the system is vulnerable and anything can change. It has said that it wants to clarify media reports saying that stage 8 load shedding is imminent, it is simply consulting with municipalities to prepare for a case of stage 8 load shedding.— Mia Lindeque, Reporter - EWN
