Case far from over and Old Mutual can't appoint new CEO - Peter Moyo's lawyer
Axed Old Mutual CEO Peter Moyo's legal team says they are confident that they will be able to overturn Tuesday's Johannesburg High Court ruling which confirmed that the insurance and banking group did not have to reinstate him.
Moyo has instructed his lawyers to appeal the judgement.
Old Mutual has been locked in a dispute with Moyo since it suspended him in May 2019 in relation to an alleged conflict of interest.
He was sacked in June before being temporarily reinstated by the courts in July.
His lawyer, Eric Mabuza says the papers will be served shortly.
The papers will be served shortly on Old Mutual but we are very confident that another court looking at this case will come to a different conclusion.Eric Mabuza, Peter Moyo's lawyer
Mabuza says the case is far from over as there are a few more court processes pending.
The real case is about permanent reinstatement or damages, as well as the delinquency application that is still pending, not to mention the contempt of court application which we hope to get a date for very soon to deal with that, so this case is far from over.Eric Mabuza, Peter Moyo's lawyer
