Mpianzi family gives SAHRC green light to take on Parktown Boys' High

Enoch Mpianzi's family has accepted an offer from the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) to represent them legally following the death of their son.

Mpianzi drowned at an orientation camp organise by his school Parktown Boys' High in the North West last week.

Speaking to Clement Manyathela, SAHRC Gauteng provincial manager Buang Jones says they met with the family on Monday morning.

We have obtained instructions to pursue legal action against the Department of Education, the Parktown Boys High and other role players who were involved in this incident.

Jones says they will be speaking to the Department of Education as well as the school.

We have discussed issues of damages, compensations and we will still have other consultations with the family.

The focus at the moment is to get the body from the North West to Johannesburg.
