Law Reform Commission proposes mediation for family disputes

The Law Reform Commission has proposed an integrated approach to resolving family disputes - particularly those involving the custody of children.

Clement Manyathela spoke to commissioner for the Law Reform Commission Prof Wesal Domingo to find out more.

The court will still play an important role, so we're not saying we are going to abandon the courts in any way but it is just one among many other several options that would be available.

Ultimately what we want to do is valid recommendations for the improvement of family justice that is orientated to the needs of the children and families.
