Clement Manyathela spoke to the ANC MP and Portfolio Committee on Tourism chairperson about the outbreak of the virus.

The Department of Tourism has appeared before the Portfolio Committee on Tourism to present its second quarterly report, including an update on the coronavirus outbreak and its impact on tourism.

Committee chairperson Supra Mahumapelo says while they are very concerned at the global spread of the disease, they applaud the steps taken by the government.

Overall we are happy with the attention that has been given to this global outbreak.

Supra Mahumapelo, ANC MP and chairperson of the

Meanwhile, Mahumapelo says he does not regret his comments surrounding Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.

The African National Congress (ANC) MP was reported to have said that the ANC will not support any motion put forward by the Democratic Alliance (DA) looking into Mkhwebane's fitness to hold office.

The ANC has since distanced itself from his utterances.

Supra Mahumapelo, ANC MP

As far as I am concerned at all times, one has been trying to propagate what the ANC stands for. There is no way we can propagate what the DA stands for.
