Blaq Diamond have had phenomenal success with their sophmore album Umuthi.
The afro-Pop duo - Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa - joined Azania Mosaka in studio for this week's 702 Unplugged.
Born in KwaZulu-Natal, the band members share how they started off as rappers and went on to create music inspired by the likes of Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Our sound is very unique.— Ndumiso Mdletshe, Member of Blaq Diamond
We were raised to embrace our culture and where we come from so we try by all means to infuse it with the urban or popular culture, so it can make sense to a lot of people.— Sphelele Dunywa, Member of Blaq Diamond
