2020 Dis-Chem Brain of 702

At it's halfway point, the Dis-Chem Brain of 702 is still wiiiiiiide open!

With two weeks of live rounds under the belt, and with just two to go - the Dis-Chem Brain of 702 is certainly living up to its billing as the premier live trivia quiz competition. On Saturday a large crowd of enthusiastic Eastgate shoppers were treated to an impressive spectacle as Market Research Student Zwi Ramutumbu and property specialist Thato Mamabolo tied their scores on 12 correct answers each in 90 seconds - leaving them to compete in a sudden death round.

In his pre-interview Zwi noted that his nerves both help him perform but can also serve to hinder him. Thato, on the other hand, showed a preference for history and sports questions over geography or pop culture.

Predictably, even the sudden death round was closely contested. It culminating in a question inviting contestants to guess the heiight of the Iron Crown, the highest point in Limpopo. With answers of 1200m and 3000m, and the correct answer being 2126m, Mamobola was eventually declared the Eastgate Brain of 702. He walked away with a tidy R5000 for his efforts on the day!

In case you were wondering, THIS is what the view is from the Iron Crown - certainly worth a visit!

It wasn't only the Eastgate live round that had onlookers anxious. While the Fourways Mall round of Dis-Chem Brain of 702 the Saturday before had a clear winner, it was by no means a walkover. And as it was the first time competing in Brain of 702 for our legal eagle winner, it could have swung either way!

Be sure to join us at Maponya Mall on Saturday 15th February and then at Brooklyn Mall on 22nd February for the final round - and the awarding of the Dis-Chem Brain of 702 title for 2020.

Remember the Dis-Chem Brain of 702 is the perfect opportunity to test your A-Game! Enter by playing online at brain.702.co.za and you could be chosen to play #702Brain on air.
