Weekend load shedding upgraded to stage 3

Stage 3 load shedding will be implemented from 9am on Saturday until 5am on Monday, says Eskom.

The announcement followed an earlier alert on Friday evening that stage 2 would be in force over the weekend.

"Despite some units having returned to service last night, stage 3 load shedding will be implemented from 09:00 today to accommodate the shortage of capacity to replenish emergency reserves."
