Lesotho police on Thursday said that they were ready to charge the country’s Prime Minister Tom Thabane with the murder of his second wife Lipolelo Thabane.

The director of public prosecutions is expected to take Thabane to court.

Earlier this month, his third and current wife Maesaiah Thabane was arrested and charged Thabane's estranged wife Lipolelo.

Bongani Bingwa chats to deputy police commissioner Paseka Mokete and political science retired professor Kopano Makoa to weigh in on what is happening in Lesotho.

Today, we will be expecting the prime minister to appear before the court of law to be formally charged with three counts, one for the murder of the late Lipolelo Thabane, two for the attempted murder for the person who was in the car with Lipolelo. And three for malicious damage to property.
