Wits University on Friday confirmed that one of its medical students had been placed in self-isolation as a precautionary measure after being in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient.
Wits spokesperson Shirona Patel said the student was tested for COVID-19 and the results were expected later on Friday.
A medical student has been quarantined after it was found that the student came into contact with a person who had been identified with COVID-19. The student is being monitored & hasn’t displayed any COVID-19 symptoms. Test results are expected today.
