The Federation of Unions of South Africa (Fedusa) is calling on Employment and Labour Minister Thulas Nxesi to urgently gazette a special policy that will activate a special Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) amid coronavirus outbreak.

Clement Manyathela speaks Fedusa deputy general secretary Riefdah Ajam about their request.

Riefdah Ajam, Fedusa deputy general secretary

Desperate times call for desperate measures. We are calling for the UIF to be activated because there is a surplus.
