[LISTEN] MyBroadband uncovers why your airtime goes missing

Various tests conducted by MyBroadband have revealed that airtime balances on new MTN and Cell C prepaid SIM card are being depleted.

MyBroadband.co.za editor at large Jan Vermeulen says they conduct the tests over a period of time o see what is going on.

Speaking to Joanne Joseph, Vermeulen says all settings on the phones they used were left on their default configurations.

The first time we did this test we uncovered major problems with the network configuration on the MTN's side that caused data to be depleted that wasn't supposed to be depleted and MTN fixed it.

Jan Vermeulen, Editor at Large - MyBroadband.co.za

We took a bunch of new SIMs, loaded R10, connected them to a wi-fi network and left it for a while then disconnected from the wi-fi.

Jan Vermeulen, Editor at Large - MyBroadband.co.za

We did this over two days and we found that there was a 5c airtime depletion on Vodacom. MTN and Cell C went from R10 to just over R6 or R7.
