Lockdown
Human potential and parenting expert Nikki Bush says the lockdown is a good time to spend with family but find time for yourself.

Staying connected with family throughout the Covid-19 lockdown even when you are in the same physical space is important if you are to survive the covid-19 lockdown.

Human potential and parenting expert Nikki Bush says, however, while the togetherness is important, we also need to connect with ourselves.

I think the first few days of lockdown, we have been settling into a new rhythm and we like to be productive, we are primed to produce and so I stared off my first few days with checklists ... I was actually driving myself into being a prisoner of my own mind and my own expectations.

Nikki Bush, Human potential and parenting expert

This morning I just walked to connect with myself and I decided I would walk until I felt better. I walked my tension out and it became a walking meditation and I completely lost track of time ... just because I needed to be.

Nikki Bush, Human potential and parenting expert

If you have people in your home, finding your own space to retreat can also be a challenge.

Nikki Bush, Human potential and parenting expert

We need routine and a schedule and at certain times in the day we reconnect with everybody and maybe that is breakfast and dinner.
