The death of Professor Gita Ramjee has left many devastated by the news.
The Aurum Institute chief scientific officer for HIV prevention passed away at a Durban hospital on Tuesday after suffering COVID-19-related complications.
It's understood she had complications arising from asthma and pneumonia.
Ramjee mentored chief operating officer for health research Vinodh Edward.
Edward joined Joanne Joseph on the Afternoon Drive to share his memories of her.
