Tintswalo Lodges' Alistair Leuner gives the lowdown on experiencing the bush from the comfort of your home.

Confined to our homes, many of us are craving the freedom of our country's beautiful outdoors - so how about a safari out in the bush?

Well, Tintswalo Lodges is one of the outfits offering South Africans just that - the opportunity to spend a couple of hours on a game drive far away from every day worries, just online.

Refiloe Mpankanyane finds out more from Tintswalo regional general manager of safari products, Alistair Leuner.

Being on lockdown, Leuner and his head ranger decided they'd venture out into the bush to be "the eyes and ears" in their reserve as well as for those on the outside.

We understand how guests and their friends and family are stuck at home in lockdown and we wanted to bring safaris to the people, just to keep Tintswalo in their minds... when all this is over they can just come back on safari.

It's not only for longstanding guests though: Tintswalo’s ‘On the Beat’ virtual safaris from its Manyeleti Game Reserve are uploaded daily to all its social media channels.

Watch this game drive posted by Tintswalo Safari Lodge on Facebook:

Leuner and nature conservationist Tim Neary also discuss animal management and anti-poaching operations during lockdown, as well as the captive lion breeding industry.
