Having difficulty simply getting out of bed in the morning due to lockdown fatigue?
Well, international sports conditioning specialist Johno Meintjies says he has the remedy - live, free morning workouts you can join on Facebook.
When the lockdown was announced Meintjies was already ahead of the curve with his existing digital training business JEFF which offers coaching in both training and nutrition.
He says his Facebook workout initiative has attracted over 30,000 followers, who can earn Vitality points as an added incentive.
What we did was, we thought let's just go on Facebook and create a live workout and come into everyone's home so people can have structure in the morning and feel connected, get their kids involved and their friends involved...Johno Meintjies, JEFF – Johno’s eFitness Faculty
I started this workout every single day, bar a Sunday morning, where we got together for a coffee from 6:45 to 8:00 and then had a really good workout from 8:00 to 8:30. It just grew and grew and grew in popularity!Johno Meintjies, JEFF – Johno’s eFitness Faculty
This is all building up to the event on Monday 13 April - "SA's biggest online workout" between 8 and 9 am.
Meintjies says anyone can take part on Monday, or in any of the regular sessions.
We use a lot of body weight stuff, but we use equipment that you've got around the house such as tinned food, a towel, a pillow or a chair or something like that.Johno Meintjies, JEFF – Johno’s eFitness Faculty
It's for everyone to enjoy, from the elderly who can just go slow to the superfit... We invite everyone just to come on board and make this an incredible success tomorrow [Monday].Johno Meintjies, JEFF – Johno’s eFitness Faculty
