Prasa's Popo Molefe says Montana left of his free will

Chairperson of the Prasa board Dr Popo Molefe has contradicted outgoing Prasa CEO Lucky Montana’s views.

Dr Popo Molefe says Montana wrote a letter to the board in March that for health reasons he is leaving the company.

“The position is simple because on 15 March Montana wrote a letter to the board that for health reasons he is leaving the company,” Molefe said.

A statement from Prasa confirmed Montana’s last day was on Wednesday.

Molefe said the board considered his letter and concluded that if he wants to leave there’s no reason to stand in his way.

“We agreed he would serve the time of notice. Nobody solicited his resignation,” He added.

Molefe says decison to let Lucky Montana go has nothing to do with the new trains.
