The 2015 edition of the 702 Walk the Talk is less than a week away and while the race office is busy organising race packs, walkers still have their work cut out for them! For this year's walk, participants have been encouraged to dress to show off what they are walking for – whether with team t-shirts, fancy dress or even costumes. You will have heard what causes the 702 Presenters are walking for, now it is up to you to choose whether you want to align with them - or dress with your own message.
Walk Pack Collection will be at Marks Park Sports Club, Emmarentia on the following days: Wednesday, 22 July 07h30 - 17h00 Thursday, 23 July 07h30 - 17h00 Friday, 24 July 07h30 - 17h00 Saturday, 25 July 08h00 - 13h00
You will need to bring your registration email and or sms to collect your walk number and pre-paid merchandise. Check out the behind the scenes gallery below:
702Land meet Nondwe. Nondwe meet 702Land...
Most of us leave the finer details of an event to the last minute - and something as basic as predicted weather conditions can have consequences! So - to keep your 702 Walk the Talk stress to a minimum we have someone monitoring the @walkthetalk_ timeline each day ready to answer any queries that might arise... her name is Nondwe.
She has 5 years experience in race office so knows the organisation well. While she will never forget the pressure of working the finish line a few years back, her duties these days include taking care of the charities for the event, liaising with the residents in the area, and helping with queries online. Clearly she found ways and means of dealing with work pressure!
People should really know that I’m that people person that people talk about. I enjoy breaking out in song with a bit of a jiggle and am a competition fanatic. Also Dave Matthews Band is the present and future.— Nondwe, Walk the Talk customer service superagent
Whatever keeps you sane Nondwe :)
Actually, when pressed on the matter, Nondwe says the funniest question she ever got was when someone called in and said, ‘I see on the website that it says entries are closed, are entries closed?’ In and among those funnier ones, are 1000's of duplicate queries around transport, times for pack collection and facilities.
Luckily stakeholders in the event are sharing information parallel to race office, but these are all retweeted by Nondwe. So keep your browsers on the 702 Walk the Talk website and cellphones pointed at @WalkTheTalk_ or use #AskNondwe this week to get the best answers to any questions you might have.
And do the same on Walk the Talk Sunday. Nondwe will once again be tweeting and Facebooking throughout the day; giving walkers up to date information on anything that may be of interest.
