Details on Mandoza's memorial and funeral service

The memorial service for Mandoza (real name Mduduzi Tshabalala) will take place on Wednesday at the Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg.

The kwaito legend and award-winning hit-maker died on Sunday after battling brain cancer. Tributes have poured in since the news broke, with family and friends praising his wife Mpho for being strong through the difficult times.

702's John Robbie spoke to Thobela Dlamini from the Recording Industry of South Africa about the details of the service, which starts at 12:00.

He revealed that the funeral service will be held on Saturday at Grace Bible Church in Soweto. More details will be shared at a later stage.

The man has done a lot for us an industry... He was an icon, he was a national asset, everybody must come celebrate his life.
