While friendships are easy to start they are certainly not easy to keep. Can you imagine how many BFF‘s you had along the way and the promises you have made to each other? Whether you see each other every day or go for months without hanging out, there are some BFF rules that are not to be broken.
Although these rules are not engraved rules to good friendship, there are guidelines that can help create more exciting, productive, and long-lasting friendships. Dr Helgo Schomer this week looks at friendship rules that should never be broken.
According to Dr Schomer, communication is important in friendship, talking about your issues clears uncertainties.
Here are 5 golden rules not to be broken:
- Friends should be loyal both in good times and in bad
- Friends respect the person and not the position or the title
- Friends keep their words – do what you said you will do
- Friends do not talk bad about friends – defend your friends in their absence
- Friends should always be honest
Here are some of the twitter responses to the topic:
I respect friendships & never borrow money from friends. Yet, I'm inundated with friends borrowing from me. It ruins things. @RediTlhabi— SuperM (@mndyoko) July 28, 2015
@RediTlhabi If your ex left with nothing of yours and you're still intact he/she can date anyone including your friends. You own no one.— KABELO MG (@KabeloMG) July 28, 2015
