In the High Court in Pretoria, another witness is on the stand in the case of nine police officers accused of murdering Mozambican national Mido Macia, who was dragged behind a police vehicle. This witness is actually the witness who filmed the incident on her cellphone.
The defence in the trial of nine former police officers implicated in the death of Macia has accused a state witness of changing her evidence. Informal trader Mahlatse Sekwati told the North Gauteng High Court that she recorded a heated argument between Macia and a police officer on her cellphone fearing it would to turn violent.
