There has been confirmation this morning that 5 people have now been arrested in connection with what looks like a taxi violence incident in the Sangweni Taxi Rank in Tembisa, where one woman was killed when shots were fired there yesterday.
Earlier this week a Queue Marshal was wounded in another shooting there, after tensions between the Midrand Taxi Association and the Tembisa Alexandra Taxi Association.
South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO)'s Peter Mashego spoke to Stephen about this incident, as well as why there are tensions between the two associations.
Every association has its own route to operate. In this case it seems the 2 associations were allocated the same route, which is the root cause.— Peter Mashego, Ekurhuleni South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO)
