Musa Mphore is the founder of the Open Eye Foundation, an organization where he works to raise awareness about organ donation amongst black South Africans.
The Open Eye Foundation will be hosting a conference where traditional healers and religious leaders will be invited so that they can learn more about organ donation - and pass it onto their communities.
Mphore explains that his passion for organ donation comes from his own experience having himself been a recipient of an organ at a very young age, after having suffered kidney failure.
I had end-stage kidney failure and I knew nothing about it ... I grew up with this hyper-tension and I didn't know about it until it ruined my kidneys ... I got transplanted in 2013, January and I'm forever grateful for the family that said yes to organ donation.— Musa Mphore, Founder of the Open Eye Foundation
