In Pretoria, Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela hosted a her press conference to publicly respond to the Parliamentary Ad hoc committee’s current view on the Nkandla saga.
Last week the ANC MP’s on that committee appeared to agree with the police minister’s view that president Jacob Zuma should not pay back the money spent by government on Nkandla.
In her interview with Stephen Grootes on the Midday Report, Madonsela insists that there is no fight between her and the president and that her disapproval is not about what she wants but the architecture of our democracy and her role in that is.

In her press conference at her offices today, Madonsela speaks about about the "misinformation" around her report, such as the fact that she never asked for Police minister to review:
I am deeply saddened to have to use media to communicate with you (South Africa) instead of Parliament. I have wondered... what would have Nelson Mandela made of these bizarre events?
