Need catering? Tight budget? Plaatjies provides a mouth-watering feast…

"Excellent service is a priority for Plaatjies Caterers," says Bulelwa Olivia Busakwe, co-founder of Plaatjies Caterers, a nominee for this year’s Small Business Awards with 702 and Sage One.

Plaatjies Caterers caters at conferences, weddings and other functions and was nominated by Zine Maliwa for the Small Business Awards.

Zine says her church hosts an event which is attended by a large group of congregants. They searched for caterers in the area and decided to choose Plaatjies Caterers.

According to Zine, the company was the best on price, taste of food, food presentation and speedy service.

According to Zine, Plaatjies assisted them when their budget was tight.

Plaatjies Caterers is also giving back to the community by offering free food to the orphanages and giving food to the street kids in Pretoria.

This year, Plaatjies Caterers spent Women's Day feeding children at an orphanage.

Busakwe co-founded Plaatjies Caterers in 2007 from a flat after seeing a gap in the market as few were selling take away food to government officials in the neighbouring government departments.

Plaatjies Caterers started with a single employee. Today it employes 16 people and have offices and a restaurant in Pretoria.
