SABC's plan to reappoint Motsoeneng is unlawful - SOS

The SABC board is reportedly considering reappointing Hlaudi Motsoeneng as the broadcaster's chief operating officer.

Motsoeneng's appeal against the decision of the High Court in Cape Town - which found his appointment irrational- was dismissed by the Supreme Court of Appeal last week.

Sekoetlane Phamodi, coordinator for Save our SABC, says the SABC board is trying to disregard the ruling made by the Supreme Court that Motsoeneng's appointment was irrational and unlawful.

What we are seeing here is malicious non compliance with court orders which the SABC board and Minister of Communication want to do in their campaign to protect Motsoeneng and keep him in his position.

Sekoetlane Phamodi, Coordinator for Save our SABC

This is illegal and it is going to result in yet another court case to invalidate Motsoeneng's appointment and will cost the SABC even more money...
