John Robbie spoke about a story in the Sunday Times of a 'revolutionary' children's bedtime story,The Rabbit Who Wants to Fall Asleep uses positive reinforcement and other psychological techniques to help children relax, focus and eventually drift off.
The book, written by Swedish psychologist Carl-Johan Forssen Ehrlin tells the tale of Roger the Rabbit, the Sleep Snail and Uncle Yawn on their quest to help the rabbit go to sleep. Parents are instructed to yawn frequently, emphasise certain words and speak in a slow and calm voice when reading words in italics. Although it has pictures, children are asked to just listen rather than read.
Some parents have expressed how amazing this book is, calling it 'revolutionary' and claiming that it managed to put their children to sleep in less than 12 minutes!
